About the ports

Rome (Civitavecchia)

No words adequately describe the magnificence of the ancient city of Rome. Whether it is the Forum, the Sistine Chapel, the Pantheon or St. Peter's Basilica that sparks your interest and intellect, Rome is home to a lifetime's worth of historical, architectural and spiritual sites.

Naples

Naples is not only picturesque, it's also one of the world's greatest cultural centers, filled with extraordinary works of art and architecture in the classical Greek and Roman styles. Several interesting tours are available of the city itself and the fascinating places that lie just outside of Naples.

Catania, Sicily

With the view of Mount Etna looming in the distance, Catania has a strong magnetic pull. This is Sicily at its most youthful, a city packed abundant energy and an earthy spirit. Its historic core is a UNESCO-listed wonder, where black-and-white palazzi tower over sweeping baroque piazzas.

Valletta, Malta

In addition to a number of significant works of art, this town is known for the many fortifications built by the Knights of Malta, who for years helped care for European pilgrims and crusaders enroot to and from the Holy Land.

Palma De Mallorca, Spain

Palma de Mallorca, it is stylish, sophisticated, intimate, yet bursting with life. Being the capital of the Balearic Islands, it's the largest city in Mallorca. The island is sometimes compared to Barcelona for it's architecture and desirable destination.

Cartagena, Spain

One of Spain’s most historically fascinating places, Cartagena's fabulous natural harbor has been used for thousands of years. From the battlements of the castle that overlook this city you can literally see layer upon layer of history spread below you: the wharf where Phoenician traders docked their ships; the street where Roman legionaries marched; and the plaza that once housed a mosque where Islamic Spain prayed to Allah. Cartagena’s extensive network of pedestrian streets and lovely waterfront make it an eminently enjoyable city to visit.

Valencia, Spain

Spain’s third-largest city is a magnificent place. Never afraid to innovate, Valencia diverted its flood-prone river to the outskirts of town and converted the former riverbed into a superb green ribbon of park winding right through the city. On it are the strikingly futuristic buildings of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, designed by local architect Santiago Calatrava. Other brilliant contemporary buildings grace the city, along with its characterful old quarter.

Barcelona

Barcelona is located in the northeastern part of the country, 90 miles south of the French border. People from all around the world enjoy visiting this city for its individuality, cultural interest and physical beauty. When Hans Christian Andersen visited in 1862, he remarked that Barcelona was the "Paris of Spain." You are likely to agree. The city is a major cultural center with a fascinating history. Everywhere are archives, libraries, museums and buildings of interest - plus superb examples of modernist and Art Nouveau décor and architecture.
